The Velibor Vasovićbrug, built between 2012 and 2014, replaced an older, smaller bridge. This new bridge efficiently connects the Watergraafsmeer neighborhood with Diemen, overcoming the barrier of the busy highway. The name, Velibor Vasovićbrug, honors a Serbian football player and manager. Velibor Vasović captained Ajax to victory in the 1971 European Cup Final. He was also the first foreign captain in Ajax’s history. This bridge isn’t just a pathway; it’s a tribute to his legacy.
