The IT Centre’s architecture is not just for show. It is a testament to thoughtful design integrating both form and function. Completed in 2005, the IT Centre emerged from an architectural competition. It was financed by the Bavarian High-Tech Campaign.
Notice how the building rests on nine-meter-high stilts facing the Inn River. This unique design gives the IT Centre a sense of lightness and transparency. The stilts serve a crucial purpose. They protect the building from flooding. The architects thoroughly considered energy efficiency and flood protection in their design.

The technology is housed on the roof. Interestingly, the server rooms are cooled using water drawn directly from the Inn River. This innovative approach highlights the IT Centre’s commitment to sustainability.
