Located in Amsterdam’s Watergraafsmeer neighborhood since 1927 it’s a true treasure. Architect Kropholler designed this Rijksmonument. Benedictine monk Dom Van der Meij crafted its stunning stained-glass windows.

This is a struggle many historic buildings face. Declining income added to the challenge. The foundation works hard. They ensure the Hofkerk continues serving its community. They also help it function as a concert hall and exhibition space. It even acts as a park.
The Hofkerk underwent extensive restoration less than ten years ago. It had to look its best. After all it’s a Rijksmonument. Expert-led tours are available if you want a closer look. You can even see the church’s pastorie and garden. The pastorie is a separate building which belongs to the complex. The church stands as a testament to faith perseverance and community spirit in Amsterdam. The beautiful stained-glass windows are just the beginning of the story this remarkable church tells.
