Eiland 9 is appreciated by divers because of its clear water. Its fish-rich habitats are famous. Imagine diving along green zones. Envision exploring peat walls and wrecks. The main wreck is called “Zestien Kwadraat”. It is a large sailing vessel. You can even enter this wreck. It lies in the northeastern part of the dive site. It rests at a depth of about 12 meters.

Further to the north at about 8 meters lies the “Betonnen Wreck”. Large pike are often spotted there. Divers enter Eiland 9 from a boat. There is more than wrecks here. On the south side, near the peat formations, you will find lots of pike and pike-perch. Be aware though. Eiland 9 is often visited by pleasure boats. Use a surface buoy.

Eiland 9 is managed by Recreatieschap Stichtse Groenlanden. This area offers more than just diving. Swimming, surfing, boating, and yachting are also popular here.

Eiland 9 has nicknames. It is also known as Zandeiland 9 and Vinkeveen Eiland 9. Boatduiken Vinkeveen is another name used. You can find it at Vinkeveense Plassen, Westzijde.

Parking is available at the boat charter. Eiland 9 is suitable for experienced divers. Night diving and underwater photography are popular. All levels of divers can enjoy this site. Access is free. However, you need to book a boat dive at one of the dive schools.

Boat dive facilities and toilets are available. The water is fresh. The kind of dive is a boat dive. There is no current. Visibility ranges from 4 to 10 meters. The average visibility is 6 meters. The depth reaches 15 meters.

The bottom consists of sand and peat. You might encounter pike, perch, and pike-perch. Ruffe, carp, bream, tench, and eel also live here. Common roach, common rudd, crayfish, bullhead, and freshwater mussel can be found.
