In 2015 the Donau-Arena underwent a major expansion. New function rooms were added. The ice hockey teams finally got their own locker rooms. Ticket booths were also built. A much-needed upgrade. Even the Nürnberg Ice Tigers played here in 1999-2000. The arena also served as a temporary home for the Straubing Tigers in 2008-2009. Their arena burned down.
