Amsterdam University College, or AUC as it’s affectionately known, offers a unique Liberal Arts and Sciences Bachelor’s program. This program is a joint venture between two prestigious institutions: the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Established in 2008, Amsterdam University College was designed to be a small-scale, selective, and internationally focused honors program. The first class graduated in 2012, marking a new era in Dutch higher education. AUC offers a Bachelor of Arts for Humanities and Social Science majors, and a Bachelor of Science for Science majors. The curriculum blends disciplines, allowing students to explore diverse fields within their chosen major. Amsterdam University College prides itself on its interdisciplinary approach. Students not only delve into their chosen major but also engage with courses in writing, global identity, and logic.
