Founded in Amsterdam in 2007, ALDA is a global producer of international DJ and event concepts. Allan Hardenberg and David Lewis are the entrepreneurs behind ALDA. The name ALDA comes from the first two initials of their first names.
ALDA produces large events. These events include festivals, stadium shows and world tours. Some ALDA-produced events include A State Of Trance and Amsterdam Music Festival. These events welcome over 100,000 fans every year.
Allan Hardenberg and David Lewis were active in the Dutch dance scene from the very beginning. In 1997, they organized events such as Armin Only and Tiësto Solo. Seven years later, Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron and David Lewis founded Armada. Armin Only became more successful. New concepts like Armada Night and A State of Trance were developed.
Hardenberg and Lewis wanted their own independent event agency. That’s how ALDA originated in 2007. Early events were Armin Only and A Day at the Park. Eventually, the event portfolio grew. It included events like Electronic Family and Citymoves. ALDA also organized event nights during Amsterdam Dance Event.
ALDA was nominated for the International Dance Music Awards in 2011 and 2013. It was in the category Best Event Promoter Worldwide. The A State of Trance concept has won awards throughout the years. SFX Entertainment acquired 50% of ALDA Holding BV in 2014. ALDA continues to operate as an independent company. It keeps developing internationally.
Since 2015, ALDA has expanded across several countries. ALDA opened a second location in Hong Kong at the end of 2015. ALDA Germany opened its new office in Hamburg one year later. The company collaborated with CTS Eventim. They planned to take the electronic dance music scene in Germany to the next level. This collaboration resulted in a new event called New Horizons in 2017.
A new collaboration began in 2018 with Insomniac. Pasqualle Rotella operates as event organizer within the United States. This collaboration created worldwide coverage for ALDA and Insomniac. Both parties saw the advantages of this partnership. It has made it possible for them to extend their reach worldwide.
ALDA organizes over 130 shows in more than 33 countries. Current concepts ALDA is working on include A Day at the Park and Electronic Family. ALDA is also working on New Horizons and SAGA Festival Romania. Events during Amsterdam Dance Event include AMF. Past events ALDA organized include Armin Only and Best Of Both Worlds.
