Built between 1962 and 1963, the Friedenskirche served a growing Protestant population in the Haidenhof district. Architect Hanns Egon Wörlen, an honorary citizen of Passau, designed this modern sanctuary. Pfarrer Herbert Hartnik played a vital role in bringing the church to life. The Friedenskirche quickly became a spiritual home for around 1,700 people in the St. Anton, Haidenhof, Kohlbruck, and Auerbach neighborhoods. Fast forward to 2018, the Friedenskirche underwent extensive renovations. This revitalization ensured its place as a vibrant community hub. Today, the Friedenskirche continues to serve its community.
