Lost already? You are standing at the entrance to the Bamboe-labyrint Nirwana. This isn’t just any maze. It is a green puzzle made of bamboo.

Bamboe-labyrint Nirwana offers a special experience. It is a place to wander and wonder. Owner Ruud Pouw created this tranquil spot. It combines a maze with a relaxing tea garden.

The Bamboe-labyrint Nirwana spans 2500 square meters. The tea garden covers another 1500 square meters. Together it is 4000 square meters of fun and relaxation. Ruud designed the tea garden for comfort. He created nooks for groups to relax among the greenery. Buddha statues add to the peaceful vibe.

Can you hear children playing in the background? The sounds fade into the peaceful setting. They highlight the rustic charm. Ruud welcomes families and groups. There is plenty of space for everyone.

Let’s climb the lookout tower. From here you can see over the maze of bamboo. On the other side stretches the tea garden. It has cozy nooks. A buzzard circles above searching for a meal. What a peaceful country scene.

Ruud knows the maze like the back of his hand. Sometimes he helps lost visitors. Can you hear those girls giggling nearby? They have been searching for ten minutes. Ruud guides them with simple directions. They are soon running off for lemonade and cake.

The tea house offers refreshments. You can enjoy organic black tea grown locally. There is also coffee and various soft drinks. Choose from homemade cakes and tasty sandwiches.

The Bamboe-labyrint Nirwana is easy to reach by foot bike or car. It is a great place to relax and recharge. It is also a spot to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The Iepenlaan and Steenwijcklaan provide access.

Look out for the wilgentunnel. It creates a cool optical illusion. It also protects from the wind. Nearby a smaller tunnel offers a natural playground for kids.

Don’t miss the Ruïne van Steenwyck. This play area is for children. It is near the maze. Legend says a bastion once stood here. It defended the Vrye Noortveen. This was a haven for rogues. The ruins are now a fun climbing area. Tunnels lead to the top. Another tunnel goes under the hill.

Keep an eye out for special plants. The buxus shapes from Kees Koeleman are amazing. The garden also has many perennials. The Wonderboom has striking purple leaves. But be careful the beans are poisonous. You might also spot the Verbascum lychitis. This wild plant is rare.

The Bamboe-labyrint Nirwana cares about nature. The gardens support insects and bees. They avoid harmful plants like thistles. Instead they allow herbs to grow. This creates a haven for wildlife.

Before you go please note a few things. Smoking is discouraged to protect the air quality. There is a designated smoking area near the ditch. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Please clean up after your pets. You can reach the main entrance from Steenwycklaan 16. A Thai Buddha statue greets you. Parking is near the maze.
