The remediation plan involves applying a topsoil layer. The remediation and construction are happening in phases.
The entire Aagtenpark was expected to be completed by the end of 2015. Fort Sint Aagtendijk offers space for tourist and recreational activities. Discussions are ongoing with the recreation farm in the Buitenlanden. They also are talking to catering businesses. The Sint Aagtendijk railway crossing will become a tunnel for slow traffic. This will improve access for pedestrians and cyclists. They will have easier access to Aagtenpark, the Stelling van Amsterdam, and De Buitenlanden.
