“Have you ever dreamt of escaping to a place where time slows down? That place exists. It’s called Boerin Marie. Here, Marie-José and John welcome you to their authentic farm, Boerderij Bouwlust.

Boerin Marie is more than just a farm. It is a haven of peace. It lies in the green Bovenkerkerpolder. This idyllic spot is only 20 km from Amsterdam. The farm maintains its agricultural roots. Sheep graze peacefully. There is also agricultural nature management and grass sales.

Marie-José’s family has lived here for three generations. She manages Bouwlust with her husband John. John used to milk cows on the other side of the polder. Now, he and Marie-José are building something new here. They are embracing a new challenge together.

What makes Boerin Marie special? It’s the feeling of space. The profound sense of calm. The simple joys of farm life. Marie-José and John want their guests to experience this magic. They believe everyone can find rest and tranquility here. Every guest brings something new and special to this place.

In 2013, they shifted gears. They replaced dairy cows with beef cattle. From then on they focused more on agricultural nature management. Now, Boerin Marie has several side activities. These include a care farm and a mini-campsite. They also rent out two charming old caravans. Sometimes they rent the whole location for events such as weddings.

Both Marie-José and John feel connected to this land. As children, they explored the polder. They lay in the grass listening to skylarks singing overhead. They want to preserve this experience. They want future generations to hear the skylarks. That is why they joined the Boeren van Amstel. Together, they ensure the birds thrive in Amstelland.

Staying at Boerin Marie offers many options. Amstelland is perfect for cycling. The Groene Hart area is ideal for walking. The farm lies close to the Noord-Hollandpad. The Amstel River flows nearby. A short walk takes you to the water. You can rent a canoe. You can paddle to the Botshol, Amsterdam, or Woerdense Verlaat.

Want to visit the city? Amsterdam is easily accessible. Marie-José and John know convenient parking spots. They can also guide you to public transport. Amsterdam is about a 45-minute bike ride from Nes a/d Amstel. Amstelveen boasts a large shopping center. It also features the Van der Togt and Cobra Museums. There is even a puppet theater for children.

Boerin Marie is a place to unwind. It is a place to reconnect with nature. It is a place to find peace. It is a place to create lasting memories. Experience the charm of rural life. Discover the beauty of the Dutch countryside. Visit Boerin Marie.
