What will the Annemie Wolffbrug be? It will be a connection. It will link Haveneiland and Centrumeiland. This connection will be in Amsterdam-Oost.
The Annemie Wolffbrug is not yet built. Construction is planned for 2023 to 2025. The bridge is sixty meters long. It spans the IJmeer. The Annemie Wolffbrug will carry the Pampuslaan. It will also carry tram line 26. This line is also known as the IJtram.
The bridge is numbered 2060. Even before construction, the bridge received its name in 2018. It is named after photographer Annemie Wolff. The CNOR advisory board initially rejected the name. Despite this, the name was approved.
Like the Lee Millerbrug nearby, Nicholas Grimshaw designed it. His firm also designed the Enneüs Heermabrug. The Annemie Wolffbrug will accommodate various traffic. This includes cars, pedestrians and cyclists.
Mobilis is building the Annemie Wolffbrug. They are working for the Amsterdam municipality. They are also building the Lee Millerbrug that connects Haveneiland. It connects Centrumeiland and Strandeiland.
The job includes building pavilions and a parking garage entrance. There is a focus on nature-inclusive construction. The Annemie Wolffbrug will have nesting spots. These are for bats and swallows. The design includes three separate bridges. Each bridge fits its purpose. There are traffic bridges north and south. A tram bridge sits in the middle.
The Annemie Wolffbrug features a unique design. It has a framework of curved tubes. Iemants, a Belgian partner, is making the steel structure. Some work occurs in Arendonk. Some takes place in Vlissingen. All parts come together in Vlissingen. From there, they will be transported to Amsterdam. Mobilis will build the concrete base and decks.
The Amstelstroombrug also uses nature-inclusive design. This bridge is over the Duivendrechtsevaart. The Annemie Wolffbrug will connect underground infrastructure. It will have conduits to carry utilities between islands.

The bridges should be installed later in 2024. In 2025, workers will build the entrance, pavilions and shore works. The bridges and pavilions should open in early 2026. The IJtram extension could run by Christmas 2025. The Amsterdam municipality designed the bridge. They worked with Sweco and Grimshaw Architects.
