Could a mosque ever be too small? For the Ar-Rahma Moskee in Amsterdam-Noord, this was a real problem. The Ar-Rahma Moskee community outgrew its building, limiting its activities for children, young adults, and elders. The mosque’s leadership realized they needed a larger space to serve their growing community. They dreamt of a place where everyone could gather, learn, and celebrate. The Ar-Rahma Moskee Foundation worked tirelessly to address this challenge. They engaged with the local community and sought approval from the Amsterdam municipality. Finally, they received the green light – an official agreement (intentieverklaring) to build a new mosque. The new Ar-Rahma Moskee will be located in Amsterdam-Noord, not far from its current location. The foundation is now actively fundraising to bring this dream to life. They believe the new mosque will be more than just a building. They envision it as a beacon of hope, a testament to the strength and resilience of the Muslim community. They invite everyone to contribute to this noble cause. They emphasize that any contribution made for the sake of Allah will be rewarded.
