It’s a club steeped in history, forged from the merger of VV Hillegom and SV Concordia in 2012. VV Hillegom itself was a union, formed in 1951 from the original VV Hillegom and Hillinen, both founded in 1920. SV Concordia, also established in 1920, joined the family, bringing with it a rich sporting legacy. The town council, recognizing the significance of this merger, renovated Concordia’s clubhouse and main pitch. The original VV Hillegom pitch at Sportpark Zanderij West now hosts lower team games, a silent witness to decades of football history. SV Hillegom embraces both a recreational and performance-driven approach to football. The club aims to provide a place for everyone, regardless of their skill level. SV Hillegom’s first team competes in the 1st class of the KNVB West 1. This is the sixth tier of the Dutch football league system. The club has navigated a fluctuating journey, experiencing both promotions and relegations. SV Hillegom offers a variety of activities, from youth tournaments to a “Legends 7 against 7” competition for players over 35. They also host a marathon tournament, family day, and school football tournament. SV Hillegom is more than just a football club. It’s a vibrant hub, woven into the fabric of the community.
