Initially developed by G&S Vastgoed Fortis Vastgoed Ontwikkeling and ING Real Estate. The Ito-toren was sold in December 2002. It was sold to Commerz Real for €133.5 million. This included the SOM office building and parking garage. In 2014 Union Investment acquired the Ito-toren. They paid €172.8 million. That was €200,000 more than its appraised value.
The Ito-toren has 25 floors above ground. There are also two underground floors. Its footprint covers approximately 2600 square meters. The structure uses reinforced concrete supports and a steel frame. The building features four stunning atria. These light-filled spaces are a highlight of the interior. Many prominent companies call the Ito-toren home. Houthoff a major law firm is a long-term tenant. They renewed their lease in 2013. They occupy 12500 square meters of space. Other tenants include ABN AMRO Accenture BearingPoint Edelman and Trafigura. Even Icesave the Icelandic bank once had an office here.
