Established in 1959 in Badhoevedorp, the Haarlemmermeer Lyceum has a rich history. It was the first school for vwo with Latin in Haarlemmermeer. The school expanded to Hoofddorp in the 1970s. The Badhoevedorp location closed in 1985, due to regulations.
In 1995, it merged becoming the Solyvius College. A new chapter began in 2000. The location “Steve Biko” in Hoofddorp reclaimed its original name. It became Haarlemmermeer Lyceum again. Since 2004, the Lyceum found its home on Baron De Coubertinlaan. A second location opened in 2014.
Haarlemmermeer Lyceum Tweetalig is the older of the two locations. It shares a building with the Floriande library. It also has its own sports hall. Here, tweetalig onderwijs or TTO is taught.
