Nestled within Prague’s Chuchelský Háj, the Zookoutek Malá Chuchle offers a unique glimpse into Czech nature. Zookoutek Malá Chuchle isn’t your typical zoo. Established in 1999 by the Environmental Education Center of Prague Forests, it’s a haven for native Czech animals. Wild boar and even the elusive lynx might make an appearance. Zookoutek Malá Chuchle also serves a vital role as a rescue center. Many of the animals here cannot return to the wild due to injuries or other limitations. The zoo provides them with a safe and comfortable home. A children’s playground and a weekend buffet add to the family-friendly atmosphere. This mini-zoo is easily accessible via a marked hiking trail, roughly 1.5 kilometers west of Malá Chuchle proper. You can also reach it by following cycling path A112, which connects Velká Chuchle and Barrandov. Remember, feeding the animals is generally prohibited, except during special educational programs.
