The Verschönerungsverein Stuttgart e.V. owns this viewpoint. This association dedicated to the city’s beautification opened it on October 25, 1958. Arnulf Klett, the mayor at that time, honored Graf Zeppelin. Zeppelin was an honorary citizen of Stuttgart. He was also a member of the Verschönerungsverein. Furthermore, he even served as the architect of the Aussichtsplatte.
In 1958, the Verschönerungsverein created the Zeppelin-Aussichtsplatte. It was dedicated to the memory of Graf Ferdinand von Zeppelin. He was an honorary citizen of Stuttgart.
Look around at the large concrete canopy. In 2021, the Verschönerungsverein Stuttgart e.V. renovated this canopy. They were celebrating their 160th anniversary. The garden office also repaired the facility.
