“Can you imagine a school with 40 children in a single classroom?” Right here, in the peaceful Petřiny neighborhood, stands Základní škola Petřiny – sever. On August 29th, 1961, this school buzzed with the excitement of its very first students. Imagine, 28 classrooms overflowing with children eager to learn! In those early years, Základní škola Petřiny – sever was bursting at the seams, accommodating over 900 pupils. The classrooms, designed for a more manageable number, sometimes held as many as 40 students each! Today, the school embraces a calmer ambiance, educating 480 students across 21 spacious classrooms. Yet, the legacy of those bustling early days continues to echo through its hallways, a testament to the dedicated educators who shaped its vibrant history.
