Established in 1968 Základní škola Hostýnská stands proudly before us. This relatively young school in Prague’s 10th district boasts a remarkable history. It quickly gained a strong reputation within its community.
The school’s success is not merely academic. It’s fostered a wide range of activities for its students. These include sports and extracurricular clubs. The school also offers introductory courses. They even provide language instruction beyond regular school hours. A unique tradition here is the significant number of male teachers. Currently six full-time teachers work here. The headmaster is also included in that number.

These include world-renowned harpist Jana Boušková. Acclaimed acrobatic rock and roll world champion Markéta Hilgerová is also an alum. Television presenter Pavlína Wolfová is a graduate as is Ondřej Kepka the director. Other famous graduates include sports reporter Daniel Macho. Jan Freund a floorball representative. Filip Míšek a guitarist in the internationally recognized band Khoiba also attended the school. Several NHL hockey players are alumni. Even the infamous Dolly Buster is among the former students. Many hundreds of students have passed through this school. They have become doctors lawyers economists and many other professionals. Some even became teachers here. Two of them have been teaching law at their alma mater for years.
