“Who knew?” I ask. Yulin Church started as a small gathering. It was initially named Hana Church in 2008. This was for Korean immigrants in Toronto.
Yulin Church has a rich history. It reflects the changing face of Toronto’s religious communities. The church has faithfully served God. It has also served His people in the Greater Toronto Area for years.
In 2014, a new chapter began. Senior Pastor Deog won Kim arrived. The church’s name changed to Yulin Church. This is the name we know today.
One year later, in 2015, the Korean Ministry expanded. They established an English Ministry. It started small with only three members. This ministry grew into what is now Open Church Toronto. Open Church is the English Ministry of Yulin Church. It is located in the Kipling area.
Yulin Church is part of a larger network. It belongs to the Korean American Presbyterian Church (KAPC). KAPC is a conservative Presbyterian denomination in North America. This provides a strong foundation. It also ensures accountability and support.
