The cornerstone was laid in 1959. This wasn’t just any school. This is the XVII Liceum Ogólnokształcące im Andrzeja Frycza Modrzewskiego. It was Warsaw’s first school built to commemorate the Millennium of the Polish State. A true ‘tysiąclatka’ a millennial school.

During the Matura exams in 1983 Grzegorz Przemyk a student here sadly died. His funeral became a significant event. His mother Barbara Sadowska and Father Jerzy Popiełuszko attended.
