Established in 1976 Wycliffe Christian School began humbly. Twenty-eight students filled a church hall in Warrimoo. Imagine the cramped classrooms the shared resources. This wasn’t just any school. It was a beacon of faith a place where learning and Christianity intertwined.

Wycliffe Christian School wasn’t always in its current location. For a few years it used another church hall in Mt Riverview. In 1979 the school finally moved to its permanent home on Rickard Road in Warrimoo. This relocation marked a significant step toward growth and stability.

The school’s name is a tribute to John Wycliffe. This 14th-century figure translated the Bible into English. Wycliffe Christian School carries on this legacy. It fosters a love of learning rooted in Christian values.

Over the years Wycliffe Christian School experienced significant expansion. Six major renovations transformed the campus. The most recent being a multi-million dollar Administration Office. This demonstrates the school’s dedication to its students. It provides a modern and comfortable learning environment.

Under the leadership of various principals the school flourished. Geoff Wheaton laid the foundation. Robert Johnston steered the school through decades of growth. Geoff Bowser and Peter Jamieson continued this legacy. The current principal David Johnston continues to guide Wycliffe towards the future.

In 2008 Wycliffe added a ‘transition’ class. This offered Christian pre-kindergarten daycare services. This broadened the school’s reach extending its influence to younger children. Wycliffe Christian School isn’t just a school it’s a community. It nurtures faith learning and personal growth.

Wycliffe boasts notable alumni. Tim Dormer a Big Brother winner is among them. Members of the alternative rock band Cloud Control are also alumni. This highlights the school’s diverse impact on its students’ lives. It fosters success in many fields.

Today Wycliffe Christian School stands as a testament to faith and education. It began as a small school in a church hall. It grew into a thriving institution. This institution provides quality education within a nurturing Christian environment. Its legacy continues to inspire students and shape lives. This school is more than brick and mortar. It’s a place of faith hope and learning.
