How about a journey through time at the WUT Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering? It stands here a testament to Polish innovation. This faculty’s story began in the early 1970s. The Institute of Chemical Engineering formed from four chairs of the Faculty of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology.

On October 27 1973 the Institute gained departmental rights. It became the Institute of Chemical and Process Engineering in 1986. Then on October 23 1991 it transformed into the WUT Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering. Today the WUT Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering can confer doctoral degrees. It is a significant achievement.

Currently five research-teaching units comprise the Department. These are the Chair of Dispersed Systems Engineering. Also the Department of Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering. Next is the Department of Kinetics and Process Thermodynamics. Then the Department of Engineering and Dynamics of Chemical Reactors. Finally the Department of Industrial Process Intensification. These units drive innovation.

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education gave the department an A category. This was based on evaluations of research from 2017 to 2021. Faculty members have also earned national and international awards. The WUT Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering leads in Poland. It conducts chemical and process engineering studies. Its reputation extends across Europe and the world.

The faculty offers full-time studies. First-cycle studies last 3.5 years. Students earn an engineer’s degree. Second-cycle studies last 1.5 years. Students achieve a master’s degree. The chemical engineering major has consistently ranked high in Poland. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has recognized the faculty. It has given awards for the best course of study.

The WUT Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering excels in education quality. It has an outstanding assessment for both degree levels. Diplomas from here are recognized in Europe. This recognition comes from the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education.

The Faculty Students Council operates here. It addresses student community matters. These include didactic, social, living and cultural development. It organizes training trips and competitions. Many exciting events are on offer.

The WIChiP “Venturi” Scientific Club also calls this place home. Students design installations. They organize the European Young Engineers Conference. The conference is one of many scientifically stimulating events. Join them.

The EngiRank 2024 Engineering Studies Ranking ranked chemical engineering studies here 49th. This included 170 evaluated universities. The entire university ranks 64th. That is an improvement of 5 positions.
