Step into the shoes of Apostle Samuel L Phillips Sr. Picture this. It’s August 1994. Thirteen souls gather in a humble home. This isn’t just any gathering. It’s the genesis of the Word of His Grace Christian Fellowship Inc. Pastor Phillips a man of unwavering faith had a vision a vision that would blossom into a thriving spiritual haven. The Word of His Grace Church wasn’t born in a grand cathedral. It began small intimately within the walls of a home.

The Word of His Grace Church quickly outgrew its modest beginnings. Its burgeoning congregation soon necessitated a move to the Kenley Recreation Center. This wasn’t just a shift in location it was a testament to the growing power of faith and community. This small beginning grew to include many services. Children’s ministry was offered along with adult Bible studies. Even a Ministerial Training program was implemented. This church wasn’t just a place of worship it was a place of growth and learning.

In March 1995 the Word of His Grace Church found a permanent home. This new location wasn’t simply a building. It became a sanctuary a place of healing and renewal under Pastor Phillips’ leadership. The church continued to expand its outreach. Its ministry extended beyond the walls of its building offering a Healing Center to help parishioners resolve personal issues. The Word of His Grace Church provided not just spiritual guidance but also practical support.

Pastor Phillips’ dedication spanned over 35 years in the Tampa Bay area. His ministry included a stint as Youth Pastor at St Paul Temple COGIC. He even served honorably in the United States Air Force for 11 years. His commitment was evident in his educational pursuits. He obtained Associate Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Pastoral Theology. He was deeply committed to his community. He served on the board of Directors for the Kingdom Global Alliance Network. He was a charter member of the Potter’s House International Pastoral Alliance. He served as a godly covering of wisdom and leadership for several sons and daughters in the gospel.

Today the Word of His Grace Church stands as a testament to Pastor Phillips’ vision and the unwavering faith of its congregation. From a humble home gathering to a thriving spiritual community it’s a story of growth grace and God’s boundless love. The legacy of the Word of His Grace Church isn’t just in bricks and mortar it’s in the lives it has touched and continues to transform.
