At White Oak Middle School, Wildcats roam. Not actual wildcats, of course. I’m talking about the students. White Oak Middle School’s mascot is the Wildcat, and its colors are blue and white. The school opened in 1962. It’s a diverse place. Students of many races and religions learn together. White Oak Middle School believes diversity is its strength. The school day runs from 8:15 am to 3:00 pm. The school operates on the 2024-25 bell schedule. White Oak Middle School’s mission is to build strong relationships and maximize learning time. They aim to create a culturally responsive environment with high expectations. Their vision? To grow fierce minds, brave spirits, and kind hearts in the White Oak Middle School community. It emphasizes taking responsibility and working to restore the community after harm is done. White Oak Middle School is part of the Northeast Consortium. This cluster includes five middle schools and three high schools: Blake High School, Paint Branch High School, and Springbrook High School. The Consortium addresses student assignment, allowing 8th graders to choose their preferred high school. Each high school offers a comprehensive program and a unique “Signature Program” focused on a specific theme like technology, science, or the arts.
