Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta embodies light and wisdom his unique light illuminating all living beings and freeing them from suffering.

Outside the main hall stands a towering pagoda a nine-story structure of impressive height. In Buddhist belief pagodas promote prosperity and good fortune. This particular pagoda houses a rare treasure Buddhist relics known as Sarira. Legend says these relics were distributed among eight countries after Buddha’s cremation. Some relics eventually found their way to Southeast Asia and China. This pagoda is a significant landmark of the Western Monastery.
