Established in 1958 W A Porter Collegiate Institute stands proudly in Toronto’s Clairlea neighbourhood. It’s more than just a school. It’s a legacy. A testament to the vision of William Arnot Porter a science teacher who dedicated his life to education. He became the principal of Scarborough High School in 1954. He continued his work until his passing in 1956. The school bears his name.

W A Porter isn’t your average high school. From its inception it focused on academics combined with technology computer and environmental studies. This innovative approach laid the groundwork for what the school is known for today. The Scarborough Academy of Technological Environmental and Computer Studies SATEC. It’s a magnet school.
