Picture this. You stand before Villa Wustl a magnificent structure in Vienna’s 13th district. This grand villa isn’t just a house. It’s a piece of Viennese history. Built between 1912 and 1914 it was the vision of architect Robert Oerley. Richard Wustl an industrialist commissioned the work.

Villa Wustl originally served as a single-family dwelling. Its impressive design is striking. A cubic shape is topped with a double stepped pyramid roof. Light wells around the roof add unique visual interest. The building is elegantly divided by balconies and loggias.

Imagine the original interiors. An octagonal vestibule with metal cladding remains. This is a stunning example of early 20th-century design. A glimpse into the past. Sadly the central hall’s original lighting was lost during a 1930s conversion into apartments. This transformation altered the villa’s character.

Interestingly a glasshouse addition survives. This section dates from the 19th century. It’s part of a previous structure Villa Hügel. A remnant of another era. The villa’s grounds once extended much further. This can still be seen from the remaining garden gates.

Villa Wustl’s history is not merely architectural. It’s also part of Vienna’s cultural heritage. It received a prestigious City of Vienna Award upon completion. A testament to its unique design and quality.

Today Villa Wustl stands as a protected landmark. Since 1990 it holds a place in Austria’s heritage. While divided into apartments its legacy endures. It’s a symbol of Vienna’s rich past. A visible reminder of the city’s elegance and innovation. Villa Wustl a true Viennese gem.
