Carl Milles, the renowned Swedish sculptor, originally created this piece. Lidingö’s version is a bronze casting. It stands at a height of 62 centimeters, elevated on a pedestal for all to admire. The placement of Venus sittande pa en snäcka allows both commuters from the Lidingöbanan and those strolling along the brygga to enjoy its beauty. It connects the island with a touch of classical mythology. The unveiling ceremony itself was a noteworthy event, drawing close to a hundred attendees despite the blustery and rainy weather.
