Founded 44 years ago Unity Santa Fe stands before you. A vibrant and loving community welcomes you. Its adobe-style sanctuary holds a capacity of 150 people. It’s large enough for well-attended events. Yet small enough to feel intimate and welcoming.
Unity Santa Fe wasn’t always here. It began as a study group. It was founded by Rev Jean Beggs in 1974. It was incorporated as a church in 1977. It became a member of Unity Worldwide Ministries in 1978. For twenty years it moved from place to place. Attendance fluctuated between 25 and 70. Then something amazing happened. A generous donation made a permanent home possible.
The church purchased a Middle Eastern grocery store. It was remodeled to look like a northern New Mexico church. The transformation was a community effort. They called it sweat equity. The first service in the new building was on May 15 1999. It was a joyful occasion. The sanctuary was full.
Today Unity Santa Fe boasts more than just a sanctuary. There’s a meditation garden. A ceremonial medicine wheel is also there. A labyrinth provides a space for walking and prayer. The church offers workshops and classes. It hosts Soul Circles facilitated by the minister or congregants. Sunday potlucks foster fellowship. Catered lunches are served on fifth Sundays. Community forums update the congregation on activities.
Unity Santa Fe is deeply involved in the Santa Fe community. It works to increase community outreach and service. It aims to develop its youth program. It shares love and joy beyond Sunday services. The church is a testament to the power of community and faith. It’s a place where people of all backgrounds find connection and spiritual growth. It’s a vibrant part of Santa Fe’s rich cultural tapestry. It’s a place you will always remember.
