For the club’s 100th anniversary, they asked enterprises to decorate blank unicorns. Why unicorns? Because the town’s flag has a unicorn. Fifty enterprises and NPOs participated. The results were amazing.
One unicorn became an astronaut. Another sprayed water. There was even a sports unicorn for the local hockey team. The town went unicorn crazy.
One resident went on a personal unicorn hunt. She found unicorns decorated by the electric company. Some even lit up at night. She saw a first aid unicorn and a flower power unicorn. She found a money corn in front of the bank.
Zurich is known for innovation. So, it is fitting that there were so many creative unicorns. They reflect the spirit of this area. Each unicorn told a story. Each was unique.
Unicorns have a long history. In medieval times, people believed unicorns could only be captured by a virgin. From a Christian view, the virgin is Mary. Her touching the unicorn’s horn is about the immaculate conception.
