Back then, the Stokes Valley Jaycees commissioned the renowned artist Guy Ngan to create a piece that would become a symbol of the area. Interestingly, Ngan never gave the sculpture a formal title. It wasn’t until years later, when the daughter of a family friend remarked on the “worms mating,” that a popular moniker emerged.
