Originally named TWGHs C.Y. Ma Charitable Foundation Practical School, it was established in 1994. After educational reform in 2001, it became TWGHs C.Y. Ma Memorial College. The TWG C Y Ma Memorial College turned into a grammar school at that time.
The TWG C Y Ma Memorial College is supported by several well-established organizations. These include the Incorporated Management Committee or IMC, the Student Union, the Parent-Teacher Association, and the Alumni Association. These groups collaborate to shape school policies.
The TWG C Y Ma Memorial College also has a boarding section. It is named TWGHs Chan Sing Chuk Building. Dr. Chan Sing Chuk made a donation in 2001. The hostel provides accommodation and training for 120 students. The TWG C Y Ma Memorial College ensures that the hostel has well-equipped facilities.
The TWG C Y Ma Memorial College also has a new teaching unit. It’s named TWGHs C.Y. Ma Memorial College Ma Lee Pok Wai Hall. The CYMA Charity Fund Limited donated $1.2 million. This donation was for renovating the air-conditioning and IT systems in 2005. The TWG C Y Ma Memorial College appreciates this generous gift.
Recently the TWG C Y Ma Memorial College established a “Forensic Science Laboratory.” Also, it has established the “Forensic Hunter” Hong Kong School Forensic Competition.
