Perhaps you’ve heard whispers of a place called Tsz Lok Estate. It is more than just buildings. It’s a slice of Hong Kong’s history.
Welcome to Tsz Lok Estate. This public housing estate in Tsz Wan Shan holds stories within its walls.
Once upon a time, this area was part of the larger Tsz Wan Shan Estate. This estate was huge. It contained blocks 4 to 32.
But times changed. The government redeveloped the area. Tsz Lok Estate was born from this redevelopment. Eleven rental blocks now stand in the south part of the site. The north became Tsz Oi Court.
Structural problems plagued some blocks in the larger Tsz Wan Shan Estate. Blocks 40 and 61 to 65 faced these issues. The Hong Kong Housing Authority stepped in. These blocks were eventually demolished. New blocks replaced them.
Tsz Lok Estate has several houses. Lok Cheung House was completed in 1996. Lok Tin House and Lok Shing House followed in 1998. Lok Hop House arrived in 1997. A small household block was added in 2004. Ancillary Facilities Block were added in 1997.
Consider Lok Shing House. Its address is 10 Wan Wah Street. It stands tall in Wong Tai Sin District.
Or think about Lok Tin House. It shares the same address. Both are part of Tsz Lok Estate. They provide homes for many residents.
