Presbyterians were living and serving Christ here since 1835. They were in the broader area around Bayview and the 401. The church’s roots go back to 1952. People from Glenview Presbyterian Church surveyed the district. They wanted to establish a mission church near Bayview and Sheppard Avenues.
In September 1952, the committee met. They met with a small group of interested residents. This community was rapidly developing. Worship services began the next month. They were held in a neighboring school. The original 250-seat sanctuary was dedicated in 1955. It was located at 2737 Bayview Ave.
The evolution from those small beginnings is significant. It involved many people and physical growth. Previous ministers and church members fashioned this worshipping community. They also created the physical buildings that make up today’s Trinity Presbyterian Church.
