Breathe in. Trekantsparken awaits. This park is named after the adjacent lake Trekanten. It’s a green oasis in Liljeholmen.
Trekantsparken wasn’t always a park. In the early 1900s, this area housed Liljeholmens Kabelfabrik. Later it was known as Trekantsplan in the 1950s. The current Trekantsparken was created in the 1980s. Back then, it was a simple green space with paths.
The park got a makeover in 1998. Stockholm was the European Capital of Culture that year. Fruktlekparken appeared near Liljeholmstorget. Artist Johan Ferner Ström created fruit sculptures for it. They are called “Sebastians lekfulla frukter”.
Spot the bright red summer pavilion. It is near the lake. It is named “En Röd”. Carl-Erik Skårman, a former city councilor, came up with the idea. He envisioned pavilions for spontaneous cultural events. These would bring a festive spirit to Stockholm’s parks.
In 2016, Trekantsparken expanded. Liljeholmens utegym opened in the southern part. The gym equipment is made of wood. It suits different fitness levels. There are also places to sit and play boules.
The 1.75-kilometer walking path around Trekanten passes through Trekantsparken. This path is part of Hälsans stig. It connects Liljeholmen and Gröndal.
Trekantsparken offers many activities. There is the Fruktlekparken with its fruit sculptures. You can also find an outdoor gym and a swimming spot.
There are open spaces for ball games, sunbathing, and picnics. The park feels safe because buildings surround it. It faces the lake and greenery.
Many people pass through Trekantsparken. They use it to get to the subway. The park connects to Vinterviken and Mälaren. This creates a long walking path through parkland. You can walk from Trekanten to Rävudden. Enjoy the changing scenery and lake views. Runners and walkers love this route.
The café in Trekantsparken might not be here for much longer. Due to the construction of the yellow subway line, the café may be forced to close at the end of 2025. It has been here for over 13 years. Please note that the café is closed on Mondays and when it rains. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00.
Trekantsparken continues to evolve. It is a place for everyone to enjoy nature and activities.
