T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce is a village near Prague. It lies 4 km east of Prague’s borders. It is part of the town of \u0160kvorec. T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce has a rich history. Its name may come from its founder T\u0159ebohost. A more likely explanation involves ancient rituals. Slavs met on hills. They made offerings to their gods. They called this “t\u0159eba”. Plachta hill was one such place. Guests came from far and wide. A quarry once stood on Plachta. Today you can find granite stones there. These stones have sacrificial bowls.

The name T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce evolved over time. In the 17th century it was written as “T\u0159ebo\u0161tice”. Another scribe wrote “St\u0159ebohostice”. These variations competed for 300 years. In 1921 the name was finally settled. It became T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce.

The oldest written record of T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce dates back to 1377. A citizen of Prague named Je\u0161ek lived here. He was also known as Jan of T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce. His name suggests he founded the village. Or he had a manor here. He used the name of T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce.

In the past T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce had wooden houses. They had clay or stone foundations. The number of houses remained constant. This was from the 14th to 17th centuries.

After Je\u0161ek, Reinhard the Younger owned the village. He sold his inheritance in 1417. The inheritance included T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce. Jan \u0160vorcen\u0161tern bought it. A dispute arose after Jan’s death. A court case took place in 1417. It involved a claim on T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce. The court ruled against the claim.

Later T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce belonged to the Zlatsk\u00e1 fortress. After 1491 it was part of the Kralovice estate. Important families owned it. After the Battle of White Mountain, things changed. The Liechtenstein princes bought T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce.

A prominent feature of T\u0159ebostice u \u0160kvorce is its bell tower. It was built in 1841. A wooden bell tower likely stood here before. Empress Maria Theresa ordered bell towers. This was to protect villages from fire.

Plachta Hill is southeast of T\u0159ebohostice u \u0160kvorce. It is a protected natural area. It provides refuge for amphibians.

From the 1920s to the end of World War II a tall radio beacon stood on Plachta. It helped planes navigate. Today you can see eastern Prague from the top. The army built a facility here in the 1960s.

Legend says Jesus rested on Plachta with his apostles. They left impressions in a large stone. These are actually rock bowls. Water erosion created them over millions of years. Some “seats” are to the right of the road to Doubek.
