In the heart of Stockholm, nestled between Tranebergsbron and Alviks Strand, lies Tranebergs Strand. This residential haven, completed in 1994, whispers tales of transformation. Tranebergs Strand wasn’t always the serene community you see today. Before the modern Tranebergsbron arched across the water in the 1930s, the area was a dense woodland. A remnant of this forest still graces the space between the buildings and Drottningsholmsvägen. The old Tranebergsbron, originating from Kristineberg on Kungsholmen, reached its western abutment near the current bridge’s western side. Today, boats bob gently beside the nearby piers, a quiet reminder of the past. Before the modern bridge and Drottningsholmsvägen reshaped the landscape, trams clanged along Tranebergs Strand, carrying residents and visitors alike. Tranebergs Strand’s architecture follows the curve of the shoreline, stretching from the Bromma side of Tranebergsbron all the way to Alvik and Alviks Strand. The street shares its name with the residential area. It was officially named Tranebergs Strand in 1936. Now, only the section south of Tranebergsbron bears this name. The road north of the bridge, once also called Tranebergs Strand, is now known as Bengt Tranas Väg. Anders Bodin Fastigheter, the developer who brought Tranebergs Strand to life, still owns and manages the properties, ensuring its legacy continues. Within these walls, 305 apartments, ranging from cozy one-bedroom to spacious five-bedroom homes, offer modern comfort and stunning water views for many residents. Adorning each entrance are exquisite white marble embellishments, a testament to the artistic vision of internationally renowned artist Bengt Olson, a Paris resident. Residents of Tranebergs Strand enjoy a private bathing dock. Tranebergs Strand shares a contemporary history with Alviks Torg, a nearby development project also helmed by Anders Bodin Fastigheter. Alviks Torg began construction in 1996, with the waterfront section completed the same year and the entire square inaugurated in the autumn of 1998. Just off the shores of Tranebergs Strand, the Sjökrogen restaurant also stands. This modern establishment, owned by Anders Bodin Fastigheter, evokes the spirit of old-time seaside taverns. Tranebergs Strand embodies a seamless blend of history and modern living, a place where the past whispers its stories to the present.
