Yet somehow the village received funding. The library opened on Pigeon Street. It later moved to a former Methodist church on Church Street now Royal York Road.

This library played a vital role. It hosted town council meetings. Two plaques commemorated Mimico’s servicemen after World War I. One honored all who fought. The other remembered Mimico’s fallen soldiers.
