Established in 2004, Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales has a fascinating history. It’s a direct descendant of a company with roots stretching back to the early 20th century. Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales wasn’t always its name. It began as a subsidiary of a larger company, East Japan Car Life Group, which itself was once known as Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales. This original Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales had a long and storied history, tracing its origins back to the Tokyo Prefecture Automobile Supply Co., Ltd., founded in 1942. The name evolved over the years. It went through two other names before becoming Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales in 1946. This original Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales even had its stock listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1961. Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales, in its current form, inherited a network of dealerships across Tokyo. These locations continued to thrive under the Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales name after the 2004 restructuring. In a twist of fate, the parent company eventually went through several transformations. It ultimately dissolved in 2021 after a merger. This left Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales as the surviving entity, carrying the torch of its predecessor’s legacy. Today, Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales stands as a testament to its enduring presence in the automotive landscape of Tokyo.
