Look at the Toguna Afrykańska Installation, a majestic wooden structure that transports us to the Dogon region of Mali. It was created by Paweł Althamer and Youssouf Dara, a skilled sculptor from Mali, in 2011. The Toguna was inspired by the traditional shelters of the Dogon people, who believe that art plays an important role in their lives. It’s not just a shelter; it’s a place for gatherings, discussions, and even decision-making. The Toguna stands proudly in Park Bródnowski, a place of peace and beauty. It serves as a bridge between cultures, a place where the stories and heritage of the Dogon people can be shared with the world. It reminds us that art can unite us, even across continents.
