Picture this. You are standing before The Entertainment Quarter a vibrant hub of activity in Sydney’s Moore Park. The air crackles with energy. Laughter echoes from the arcades. The aroma of delicious food wafts from nearby restaurants. This isn’t just any entertainment precinct. It’s a place steeped in history a place where the past and present collide in a spectacular show.

The Entertainment Quarter wasn’t always a bustling entertainment hub. It began life as the Sydney Showground home to the annual Royal Easter Show. For years the Showground hosted this iconic event showcasing agricultural produce art craft and even daring feats of skill. The Show’s popularity grew exponentially. It eventually outgrew its Moore Park home. The Show relocated to Sydney Olympic Park in 1997.

This left behind a vast space ripe for transformation. Clever minds saw the potential of this location. Lendlease and News Corp Australia spearheaded the redevelopment. In 1998 the Entertainment Quarter and Fox Studios Australia opened their doors. Fox Studios a massive complex of film and television studios was built alongside the existing Showground structures. It attracted major motion pictures and television productions. The studios themselves attracted some famous faces to work on major productions.

The transformation was more than just the studios. Parts of the old Showground were repurposed. The Hordern Pavilion a former exhibition space became a legendary live music venue hosting countless concerts over the years. Other buildings found new lives. The Royal Hall of Industries hosts large events. The Showring now hosts a bi-weekly market offering a vibrant atmosphere and a showcase of local products.

The Entertainment Quarter continues to evolve. It now houses not only Hoyts Cinema Strike Bowling and The Comedy Store but also educational institutions like the Australian Film Television and Radio School AFTRS and Brent Street Performance Arts Dance School. These institutions contribute to the Quarter’s vibrant cultural landscape. The addition of new facilities like Hyperkarting adds to the fun.

Today The Entertainment Quarter pulsates with life. It’s a testament to the power of vision the ability to transform a historical site into a dynamic modern entertainment destination. So take your time explore. Discover the hidden stories within this captivating precinct. This is more than just entertainment. It’s a journey through Sydney’s rich past and present. Enjoy the show.
