The Cullinan

Can you imagine living in a building named after the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found? Right here before you stand The Cullinan, a testament to luxury and grandeur. The Cullinan, completed in 2008 and 2009, graces the Hong Kong skyline with its twin towers, North and South, reaching a height of 270 meters. These 68-story structures hold the title of Hong Kong’s tallest residential towers. The Cullinan’s shimmering glass curtain walls reflect the dazzling lights of Victoria Harbour, mirroring the design of its neighbor, the International Commerce Centre. Named after the legendary 3,106-carat Cullinan Diamond, discovered in 1905, this complex shares a name with the magnificent jewels adorning the British Crown Jewels and Elizabeth II’s personal collection. Developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties, The Cullinan was initially planned as a more modest 45-story structure. However, when Union Square Phase 5 was cancelled, the developers seized the opportunity to increase the height dramatically to its current impressive scale. The Cullinan’s penthouses, perched atop these majestic towers, are legendary. Time magazine even speculated that these opulent residences “could well qualify as the world’s most expensive apartments.” Looking at The Cullinan, its gleaming facade rising into the sky, it’s easy to believe.
