Did Mãe Glauce de Iemanjá ever imagine the impact Terreiro de Umbanda Ogum Guerreiro e Katina da Silva would have? We stand before a place born from a desire to build a sacred community. Terreiro de Umbanda Ogum Guerreiro e Katina da Silva opened its doors in 2019 under Mãe Glauce’s leadership. The Terreiro prides itself on serving the community through its giras. Every ritual is rooted in caridade, love, health, prosperity, and addressing spiritual problems. This isn’t a place for dark magic or sacrifice. The Terreiro is committed to the teachings of Umbanda Sagrada. The leaders, mediums, and volunteers work tirelessly to spread its message. They welcome people of all ages, ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds. They strive to guide everyone towards a life of peace, joy, and love. The Terreiro also aims to demystify misconceptions about Umbanda. They emphasize that Exu is not the Devil. The Esquerda, comprised of Exus, Pombagiras, and Exus Mirins, are messengers to the spiritual plane. They are guardians who ensure divine orders are carried out. Because they’re close to the human world, people often feel a strong connection to them. Some believe they alone can solve their problems. However, the Terreiro teaches that all entities work together for the greater good. Exus are known for opening paths and removing negative energies. Pombagiras are associated with self-love, self-esteem, sexuality, and understanding one’s body. Exus Mirins focus on emotional balance and harmony. They help people find solutions within themselves. The Terreiro acknowledges the misconception of Exu as the Devil, attributing this to fear-mongering by other religions about African-based faiths. They invite people to experience Umbanda firsthand and see the true nature of the Esquerda. The Terreiro de Umbanda Ogum Guerreiro e Katina da Silva holds giras every Friday. Doors open at 7:30 pm, and the gira begins at 8:30 pm. Atendimento fichas are distributed until 9 pm, on a first-come, first-served basis. Here, within these walls, you find a vibrant community seeking spiritual growth and connection. The Terreiro de Umbanda Ogum Guerreiro e Katina da Silva stands as a testament to the enduring power of Umbanda.
