This highway, part of Route 8, connects Sha Tin to Tsing Yi. The tunnel itself represents the culmination of years of planning and a hefty price tag of HK$2,120.2 million. The Tai Wai Tunnel is more than just a shortcut. It is the shortest of three tunnels along Route T3, stretching 0.5 kilometers from Sha Tin to Hin Tin.
