Sunrise Beyond was formed to absorb Xebec’s operations, inheriting a legacy of creativity and experience.
Sunrise Beyond focused on producing captivating screen content, primarily animation. They also delved into the world of intellectual property (IP). They nurtured and utilized existing IP, while also managing rights. The studio was led by representative director Masakazu Ogawa, a Sunrise producer. The interim board boasted impressive names. Makoto Asanuma, Sunrise representative director, was a key member. Nobuyoshi Habara, Xebec president, brought his expertise. Naoya Masaki, Sunrise board member, completed this powerful trio.
The creation of Sunrise Beyond was a strategic move by Sunrise. They saw an opportunity to expand their reach and capabilities. By taking in Xebec’s operations, they gained not only a talented team, but also a wealth of knowledge and resources. This allowed Sunrise Beyond to hit the ground running.
