Nestled in Fo Tan, does Sui Wo Court whisper stories of Hong Kong’s evolving housing landscape? Sui Wo Court is one of the first estates under the Home Ownership Scheme. It stands as a testament to a vision of homeownership for Hong Kong residents.

Completed in 1980, Sui Wo Court offered 3501 flats for sale. These homes provided an opportunity for many to own property. The original sale prices ranged from 100200 to 252700 Hong Kong dollars.

Sui Wo Court consists of nine blocks of non-standard type. These are Fung Yue House, Fung Yat House, and Fung Lin House. Then there’s Hing Wan House, Hing Sing House, and Hing On House. Finally, there is Wing Mau House, Wing Cheung House, and Wing Hing House. Each block contributes to the overall community of Sui Wo Court.

The flats ranged from 43 to 65 square meters. The saleable area was between 38 and 57 square meters. Sui Wo Court was designed by Palmer and Turner. It received a Silver Medal at the 1981 Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards.

Sui Wo Court is located on a mountain above Wo Che. It is east of central Fo Tan and northwest of Sha Tin. From here, you can see the scenery of Sha Tin and Tolo Harbour.

A bus terminus serves the residents of Sui Wo Court. There are considerations for building an escalator link to Fo Tan station. The address of Sui Wo Court is 10 Sui Wo Road. Several shops are nearby.

Today, Sui Wo Court stands as a reminder of Hong Kong’s commitment to providing affordable housing. Its history is etched into the very walls of each block. It reflects the aspirations and dreams of its residents. As you stand here, remember the families who built their lives within these walls. Their stories echo through the estate.
