The Dickey Health Center offers basic healthcare. It provides wellness services. Health information is available for preventing illness. Maintaining an energetic life is the goal.

The Student Health Center strives for happy, healthy Spartans. It provides high-quality care. Evidence-based medicine guides their practices. Behavioral healthcare and health education are also available. These support collegiate success. They promote sustained wellness.
Who can use these services? All full-time undergraduates can use the Health Center. This includes students registered for 12 or more hours. Full-time graduate students are also eligible. They must be registered for eight or more hours. Part-time students can use the service too. However, they pay a fee. Student family members, faculty and staff are not eligible. New student health forms are required. This applies to all full-time and part-time students.
The Health Center staff addresses acute illnesses and injuries. They offer immunizations and gynecology services. Physicals are available. Allergy injections can be administered. There is even a medical infusion space.
Full-time undergraduates and international students usually have few out-of-pocket costs. This is because most services are covered by their health insurance. These students have already paid the student health fee.
The Health Center operates by appointment only. No walk-ins are allowed. Call (813) 253-6250 to schedule. It is imperative to call before visiting. This ensures proper protective measures.
The Student Health Center has partnered with The Jed Foundation. JED is a leading nonprofit. It promotes emotional health. It prevents suicide among young adults. JED Campus guides schools through a collaborative process. This involves comprehensive systems and program development.
What about insurance? Registered undergraduates taking 12 or more credit hours are automatically enrolled in United Healthcare Student Insurance. International students with an F-1 or J-1 visa are also enrolled. Domestic graduate students may purchase the insurance.
Full-time undergraduate and international students pay a mandatory health fee each semester. This fee covers health, counseling and wellness services at the Dickey Health and Wellness Center.
