The Stanley Sewage Treatment Works employs a four-step treatment process. First, physical screening removes large objects. Then, biological treatment uses microorganisms to break down organic matter. Sedimentation separates the treated sewage from the sludge. Finally, sludge dewatering prepares the remaining solids for disposal. A sophisticated computer system controls the entire treatment process. This system monitors sewage flow, airflow, and various other parameters.
